Klappentext:
„At the age of four Beth was sent to a foster care institution by her parents. For the next thirteen years she was shunted from one institution to another. By the age of seventeen she was an addict, a prostitute, and a pusher. At twenty-five she kicked her habit for almost a ear but attempted suicide twice and became addicted again. At the age of thirtyy, things got worse. This is Beth’s story.
Kent Klich, a psychologist and photographer, met Beth in 1983. They became friends and for the next three years Klich photographed Beth, with her cooperation, with the idea of „telling her story.“ The Book of Beth is an unflinching documentation that includes Beth’s own highly thoughtful and frank writings, official records from her social workers‘, the police, and other institutional documentation, plus a perceptive essay by Bengt Börjeson.
